Steve Briggs
Steven describes himself as; “somebody who relentlessly seeks new challenges and enjoys the practical application of wisdom” He is an experienced business consultant and project manager who came to New Zealand four years ago fast growing a reputation as a great facilitator and helping organisations improve their performance by using lean techniques.
Initially educated at Loughborough University in the UK, he has worked at Fonterra, leading their programme for accelerating Operational Excellence. Prior to that, he worked as a management consultant in the UK for one of the 1st tier management consultants for over 6 years.
He has advised a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sector and his experience covers everything from Defence to the food industry. His New Zealand clients have included Watercare, NZDF, Vodafone, Transit, Auckland City Council, Queenstown Lakes District Council, Waitemata DHB and Counties Manukau DHB. His areas of interest include project management, continuous improvement and change management. Steven is a PRINCE2 practitioner and also a UK Chartered Engineer. He has won prizes from Rolls Royce and Ford for his academic achievements but values his corporate credentials more. He helped the UK Ministry of Defence carry out numerous performance improvement projects using lean techniques for both Tornado and Harrier and helped set up one of the largest improvement programmes in the UK following the Gershon review. He received an innovation award for his work for the UK Revenue and Customs Office (HMRC) and has worked with some of the world’s largest multinationals to set up their compliance programmes for Sarbanes Oxley.
Steven is an experienced facilitator and has facilitated NZIM Programmes over two years. He has advised companies on organisation design, change management, risk management, procurement and performance improvement.
